Two scientists from Nairobi-based non-governmental organization (NGO), Africa Harvest, are recipients the Grand Challenges Canada Stars in Global Health award. The annual award gives opportunity to innovators around the world to develop bold ideas with big impact to improve health conditions.

The award to Antony Aseta and Doreen Marangu is one of 102 new grants of $100,000 each designed to address a specific critical barrier which, if removed, would help solve an important health problem in the developing world, with a high likelihood of global impact through widespread implementation. Aseta and Marangu will use the grant to develop low-cost polyethylene tube digesters.
